Payouts

Every six hours a parent coin’s pool is divided among the wallets holding that parent, pro rata, on a reading of the holders that a blockhash picks after the round has closed. This is the rule, then the ledger it produced.

The rule

Rounds close at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00 UTC.

Through each round the pad reads who holds the coin, over and over. When the round closes, one of those readings is chosen, and the choice is made by a blockhash the chain had not produced yet when the round closed: the first finalised block at least 40 slots past the close. The first eight bytes of its blockhash, read little-endian, modulo the number of readings, is the reading that counts.

Your weight is the smaller of what you held at that reading and what you held at the previous round’s chosen reading. So buying just before a snapshot earns nothing: you have to hold through the round.

The pool’s balance, less the rent the account must keep and a reserve for the transaction fees, is split on those weights, pro rata.

If your share comes to less than 0.0005 SOL it stays in the pool with your name on it and is added to your next share, until the total is worth sending. If the whole pool holds less than 0.1 SOL, nothing is sent and the round rolls into the next one.

Every round records the blockhash that made the choice, how many readings there were, which one was chosen, the pool’s balance, what was divided, every wallet’s weight and every transaction signature. All of it is on this page.

A worked example

Four wallets hold a coin. The round closes and the pool holds 1,000,910,880 lamports, which is 1.0009 SOL. Every figure below can be recomputed with a calculator.

What the pool keeps, and what is left to divide
WhatLamports
Pool balance at the close1,000,910,880
Less the rent-exempt floor of the account890,880
Less the fee reserve, one batch plus headroom20,000
Less what earlier rounds already owe other wallets0
Divided this round1,000,000,000

Dee held steady, Ada held steady, Bo sold half of hers, and Cy bought during the round, so Cy held nothing at the previous reading.

Dee249,9370249,937

Dee’s share is 0.000249937 SOL, under the 0.0005 SOL floor, so it is carried rather than sent. The round pays 999,750,062 lamports in two transfers, one batch, one signature, 5,000 lamports of fee.

The pool afterwards holds 1,155,818 lamports and every one of them is accounted for: the 890,880 rent floor, the 15,000 of fee reserve that was not spent, Dee’s 249,937 carry, and 1 lamport of remainder from the division.

Dee’s carry then grows. At the same share, the next round carries 499,874, which is 126 lamports short of the floor, and the round after that pays 749,811 and clears it.

Who is excluded

A pool pays people. These addresses are removed from every reading before any weight is worked out, so they never appear in a round at all.

Addresses removed from every reading
What it isAddress
Nothing to exclude yet: the list is built from the registry, and no coin is registered.

Derived for every registered coin and excluded with them, though they are not addresses this page holds: the bonding curve, the graduated pool and its authority, the fee-sharing config, and the pad’s launch signer. Anything off the ed25519 curve, which is every program-derived address, is filtered underneath all of that.

The round ledger

Every round, newest first

No rounds yet. A round appears here once a baby has earned fees and the pool clears the minimum.

The counted moment, per round

Everything the choice was made from, so anyone can repeat it. Take the blockhash of the block at that slot, read its first eight bytes little-endian, and take the remainder modulo the number of readings. That is the chosen reading.

What you are owed

Your wallet page lists the coins that owe you, your weight in the last round and what each has paid you.
